As the New Year Approaches...

As we see the end of 2018 and the beginning of the new year, I have a few words of gratitude to share. Thank you to all of my friends, you have inspired me to move ever forward; even when the times were their most discouraging. You have no idea how much this matters to me. Thank you for taking me on some wild adventures and may many more come as time marches on! I would also like to thank the fantastic witches and warlocks of the Church of Satan. Without all of you, the world would be a dull, safe space. Your tenacity and will to move the world as you each see fit is inspiring and entertaining. Thank you for shaking things up; you intrepid iconoclasts! And finally, a prominent and hearty thank you to those who are reading this very page. Walk on the Third Side was launched in the middle of 2018 and already I have received copious amounts of much needed positive feedback. My infernal thoughts will only continue to be brought to life as the years go by. It cannot be done without yo...

Strolling Down the Left Hand Path With...Reverend E.R. Vernor

(Although I am a member, I do not speak for the Church of Satan) Hello!Once again, dear readers, it is time for another interview and this time I have a very special interviewee (that's a funny word). He is an entrepreneur, a paranormal investigator, a writer, motivational speaker, publisher, and a Reverend in the Church of Satan: Reverend E.R. Vernor. E.R. Vernor, also known as Corvis Nocturnum, runs several businesses and has been a guest speaker at many conventions such as Dragon Con , Scarefest , and Parafest . I am not the first to interview him and I most certainly will not be the last! He has been featured in Penthouse Magazine and BET Channel's The Lexi Show on the episode "The Church of Satan." On top of being a businessperson, a speaker, and a writer, he is also an artist on the side and does several different pieces. Here are a just a few of the places he can be found: http://www.darkmoonpress.com/writer/corvis-nocturnum/ https://www.corvisnocturn...

I Was Interviewed By Reverend Campbell!

I have done my fair share of interviewing people, and my first interview with another member of the Church of Satan, Magister Nemo, was done a few weeks ago. But I have never had someone interview me and Reverend Adam Campbell of Speak of the Devil did just that! Needless to say, I was excited, somewhat nervous, and happy to sit down with such an influential member of the Church of Satan. We talked about me, my writing, and the wild and wondrous world of Japanese animation! Check it out and show your boy some support! And toss Reverend Campbell some love by visiting his website, www.reverendcampbell.com , he is a fantastic host and a devilishly charming man. Hail Satan!

Strolling Down the Left Hand Path With...Magister Nemo

(Although I am a member, I do not speak for the Church of Satan) Hello, dear readers. I wish to share a little something with each and everyone one of you. Many moons ago, I was a humble (but professional) anime journalist. I would be compensated, usually with free meals and paid-for hotel stays, to report on anime conventions. With this privilege, I was able to gain access to some of the secrets of such conferences as well as interview some significant movers and shakers in the anime industry. The interviews were definitely the best thing about the gig, personally.  So what does that have to do with Satanism and this blog? Well, I wish to take the fantastic experiences I had with anime journalism and the interviews and put it to use. So with that being said, I want to announce a new segment on Walk on the Third Side which I like to call "Strolling down the Left Hand Path With...." This is where, ever so often, I interview another Satanist and have a little chat as we ta...

Vital Existence or: "How I Learned to Stop Procrastinating and Worry About My Time"

(Although I am a member, I do not speak for the Church of Satan) The second satanic statement is "Satan Represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams." For members of the infernal empire, this should come as a no-brainer on rejecting the spiritual world in favor of the carnal one. We all know of the god-adorers, the holy-rollers, the sanctimonious, and the white-lighters. Satanists often scoff at such fools who waste their lives hoping for something better instead of making the best of the very one they possess, right here and now! It is a pipe dream, a Pollyanna perspective of the most bombastic kind. However, there is an equally, albeit far less discussed, force that can suck away the vital existence of any Satanist. It starts with a P, and it creeps up slowly, leeching off of one's energy and drive to make the best of life. No, it is not the nearby preacher knocking on your door at nine in the morning; It is procrastination. Procrastination is ...

You Shall Not Speak Unless Spoken To!

(This was my first Satanic-themed essay. It was written years ago on the Letters to the Devil forums. I decided to share it with all of you today. As always, although I am a member I do not speak for the Church of Satan) I know that rule number one of the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth state that a Satanist must not “give your opinions or advice unless asked.” However, since you—dear reader—are now perusing this essay, I am going to make the assumption that you have now given your consent to my opinion, so here goes. I have had to learn the hard way about the importance of the rule above. Yes, this has been one of the harder rules for me to follow. To give an idea as to how much I struggled with this while growing up I was, to paraphrase one of my middle school teachers, “ the opinionated kid with the high IQ.” I developed the custom of always speaking my mind, much to the chagrin of my mother and others around me. If I had an idea—I usually would spout it, and with little-...

How I Discovered Satanism

(Disclaimer: Although I am a member, I do not speak for the Church of Satan. All images are used are under fair use and are owned by their respective parties.) I was always fascinated by the bizarre, the strange, and even the seemingly sinister. I was a well-behaved child growing up, but even when I was approaching young adulthood, I was still very much entrenched in the realm of the outsider. The opinions and expectations of those around me never entirely rubbed off on me. Considering the kind of neighborhood I grew up in, this was nothing short of extraordinary. I grew up in a bad neighborhood, and sometimes in austere situations. Granted, the city I grew up in (a smaller city in California) was not a "bad city" in the traditional sense of the word. But where I grew up, in the south part of town;  let's just say that the most common audible thing was a gunshot. And good luck walking down the streets safely at night. Hell, I was mugged, jumped and attacked several t...
